Kelly’s 15-year-old black Labrador, Charlie Bear, had been diagnosed with a brain tumor earlier this year, and unfortunately, he passed away on September 9th.

For many of us, pets are beloved members of the family, and when they’re lost, it’s incredibly difficult to say goodbye to them. This was certainly the case for Kelly O’Connell, who just got married on the happiest and saddest day of her life.

Charlie Bear, Kelly’s 15-year-old black Labrador, was diagnosed with a brain tumor earlier this year and sadly passed away on September 9. But before the Rainbow Bridge, Charlie Bear was able to be around. Kelly on her special day.

Instead of walking down the aisle with the bride, Charlie Bear was accompanied by Kelly’s sister and bridesmaid, Katie Lloyd. And despite not being able to walk down the aisle, Charlie Bear still plays an important role in the marriage. The bride and groom even made sure to include it in their first dance.

Photographer Jen Dziuvenis was there to capture those bittersweet moments, and despite standing behind the camera in tears, she knows how important it is to capture those memories.

Finally, the Kellys said goodbye to their four-legged friend in a beautiful and touching way. The love and memories they share with Charlie Bear will last forever and he will always hold a special place in their hearts. Losing a pet is never easy, but the love and joy it brings to our lives is immeasurable. Rest in peace, Charlie Bear. We will miss you.
