They are amazing and generally protective of their humans!
When you want a new pet, it’s best to adopt it from a shelter. It is an opportunity to give new life to a homeless or ab.and.o.ned animal.
And sometimes when you save an animal, it saves you. That’s what one man discovered when his foster dogs stepped in to save the day. A man named Robert McGowan found two pit bulls at a local shelter. According to The Dodo, the dogs had a difficult and ‘ab.a.ndo.ned’ life. It’s no surprise – pit bulls are the most popular breed in shelters and their reputation as an ‘agg.re.ss.ive’ dog scares people away from admitting them.
But Robert opened his heart to the poor dogs, adopted them and named them Ellabelle and Ladybug.
He gave them a loving home and the pit bulls became kind and friendly dogs. But in a recent incident, the dogs were revealed. One night, Robert was in his garage when he was suddenly ‘at.t.a.cked’ by four strangers. They b.e.at ‘him’, gave him a black eye and intended to steal his car.
They asked for the key and Robert told her they were in the house. They didn’t know what else they would find there.
Suddenly, two pit bulls rushed to the defense of their owners, barking and chasing the ‘at.ta.ck.ers’. “They drove them away,” Robert told The Dodo.
“My girls ran into the garage and stood over me.” “They just stood there barking, making it clear that no one would harm me again. The four of them left.
Robert says that these dogs are really docile and non-‘ag.gr.es.sive’, although the breed is famous… they will not hesitate to be defensive when their loved ones are ‘thr.ea.ten.ed’. It’s a story that proves how loyal and lovable rescue dogs can be. It’s easy to imagine what things would have been if Robert hadn’t brought them home. Robert urges people to read his story to consider adoption.
