They tried using food to entice the puppies to come out, but the small ones were reluctant and ‘unwilling’ to move. Given the serious ‘d.a.n.g.e.r.’ caused by the freezing weather, it was crucial to act quickly. In a last-ditch effort, the rescuers made the decision to resort to a strategy of ‘in.t.i.m.i.da.tion’. By softly encouraging the puppies from one side of the pipe and using a broom to direct them, they eventually succeeded in persuading the initial puppy to come out. Shortly after, the others followed suit and joined their mother inside the van, where they found comfort and security.
It was clear that this rescue operation had arrived at the last possible moment. Given that the temperatures decrease further during the night, the small family would not have endured much longer in the frigid weather. Luckily, the compassionate rescuers were made aware of their situation, which allowed them to intervene promptly.
